LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — As nonessential businesses go dark, pawn shops are providing relief for those out of work.
For the World Famous Max Pawn, business is picking up during the global pandemic.
Owner Michael Mack says with so many people suddenly out of work, he thought he would see customers borrow against their possessions. But, he says it’s just the opposite.
“Middle-class folks that shop and get loans here are spending money in my store like they’ve never spent before,” Mack said.
While staying open, the company is taking extra safety precaution in store by giving all customers masks and gloves.
